I have a near cherry 1282. We use it for trimming, hauling, and light snow plowing. Since moving into the hills of Kentucky, the 12 HP Kohler seems taxed when cutting and climbing.We did a light rebuild 5 years ago but it starting to show signs of stress and has started to consume oil.
I have recently acquired a used 18 HP Kohler Command from a trashed mid-90s Cub. Short of trial and error, is there any reference material or place for guidance on swaps? I have helpful and willing neighbors looking forward to winter nights in the garage. But, to prevent a divorce and a large beer bill, I would like a plan to keep this project short.
